September 14, 2008 — NPBA National Pole Bending Assn.. NPBA show September 14th, at the IHA Gymkhana Show, Bohemia.
You can join NPBA at the show or go to
pole-bending.org for form. Starting January 1, 2008 exhibitors running in the NPBA local qualifying show classes are not required to have a current NPBA membership but NPBA membership will be required if an exhibitor wants the show to count as one of his or her two qualifying shows. This change was required because we need membership information (address etc) in order to send entry information for the National Championship Show. We will do two shows with IHA June 8th and September 14th and others shows to be announced later. Added money TBA end of year high point open Saddle all shows to count. Michael combines a keen eye and a demand for good equitation and systematic approach to the horse’s training and has a clear understanding of classical principles of rhythm, suppleness, acceptance of the bit and aids, impulsion, straightness and collection is, of course, the absolute key to success and happiness in ones riding. He is an AHSA “Senior” Judge, a USDF Certified Dressage Instructor (thru 4th level), a USEF “S” Judge, and was Chairman/Author of the United States Dressage Federation Manual, and originator of the USDF Symposiums. Overnight Camp
; 5 day, 4 night program for
girls age 9 and up who are cantering. The
program includes daily instruction in equitation, hunters, and dressage. The lessons are tailored to each student’s ability. There will be lots of hands on experience in all aspects of horse care, from learning how to detect lameness to learning how to do show quality braids. Interactive and
informative clinics will be given by out vet, farrier, equine massage therapist and chiropractor.

One day will be a Natural Horsemanship clinic where the girls will learn about horse nature, behavior, and psychology, and how to use these elements to improve their relationship with their horse, on the ground and in the saddle. Swimming in the pool or at the beach, baking brownies, taking in a movie, miniature golf, or just plain lounging around are options at the end of each adventure-filled day at the barn. The girls reside in a beautiful 4-bedroom Victorian house on the property. Camp Director and RidingInstructor is Gina Neilson with over 35 years of training experience in eventing, hunter/jumper, and dressage. $1,950 includes all lessons, clinics, lodging and meals. Aimed at the first time eventer, this division will use Intro Test A, cross rails, and a modified cross country course. The Intro Division will require five entries to run. Also Dressage Only Division with tests for 2003 Intro A+B, 2007 Training Level 1-4, 2006 Novice Test A and 2006 Training Test B.
